Better Ways7 explore some of the history of leadership training. "Back in the 1930's social scientists began to examine leadership. Through these studies, it was determined that leadership is something people do, and therefore the premise was developed that it is possibly something that people can learn to do."  Excerpted from the Troop Leader Development Staff Guide, Boy Scouts of America, 1974.

Better Ways8 Explore some research on leadership training as it applies to community leadership.  Planners web has four research articles available for download  which examine why there may be a lack of leadership training amongst many community leaders.  Collectively, the articles show how leadership can be developed in urban and rural communities, and the impending benefits of such skill developments.
