The Malice Green Memorial Site is very important to the city of Detroit. It symbolizes the police brutality that took place in the city. Malice Green was an average Black man who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was unjustly beaten to death at this site in the summer of 1992. Immediately after this tragedy, a shrine was erected in front of the building located at Warren and 24th Streets. Local artist Benny White created the Malice Green Mural. He is available for artistic presentations and a personal interpretation of his painting. |
